NFL Week 1 Recap

Standard

The first week of NFL action has been completed. The week that was pretty much expected like any start to the season. Predictable bad teams made impressive runs against good teams while the predicted good teams do horrible against the bad teams. I managed to get a win with my fantasy team (Megatron OP). It was my first win on fantasy. I did finish picks at 8-8It might’ve been 11-5 had the overtime games been better for the teams that I picked. The recap:

Green Bay 16, Seattle 36: Had GB winning. The game was pretty much a bad showing for the Packers. The running game was lackluster and Aaron Rodgers had a field day with the grass while getting sacked. Good job to Seattle, which seem to only get better.

New Orleans 34, Atlanta 37: Had the Saints winning. Shootout game like usual with these two teams. Falcons made one more play than the Saints to win.

Cincinnati 23, Baltimore 16: had the Bengals winning. Cincy proved me that they are worthy to be picked. Had Ray Rice played the game it might’ve been different. Fortunately he didn’t and hopefully won’t ever have to put on another NFL uniform for the rest of his natural born life. Assaulting is wrong, man or woman.

Buffalo 23, Chicago 20: had Chicago winning. Probably the bigger shocker of the weekend, but not a surprise. The Bills start out strong early then fall apart. It did make me feel better knowing Chicago lost.

Washington 6, Houston 17: had Washington winning. The game turned bad for Washington a team that looked to improve. Kirk Cousins seems to be a better option at the moment. Houston ends a long home losing streak, makes them fans.
Tennessee 26, Kansas City 10: had the Chiefs winning. The Chiefs start the campaign 0-1 and the season doesn’t get any better with the mounting amount of injuries. Jake Locker did well, perhaps he might prove critics wrong. It would make Ken Wisenhunt happy.

New England 20, Miami 33: had the Pats winning. The Patriots start out with a loss to begin the season. The thing is it isn’t surprising. They finish strong and start rough. However I feel good about the Dolphins this year.

Oakland 14, New York Jets 19: had the Jets winning. At least for once the Jets and I agree on a victory. Jets defense was the lead contributor in the victory. Rex Ryan wasn’t so thrilled about it. Raiders almost won, but not quite enough.

Jacksonville 17, Philadelphia 34: had the Eagles winning. What can I say. Both teams were awful. Awful in two parts: the 17 unanswered by Jacksonville and the 34 unanswered by Philadelphia. One team couldn’t seal the deal while the other did. Had the Eagles lost it would’ve looked bad on the NFC east. Very bad.

Cleveland 27, Pittsburgh 30: had the Steelers winning. The close game that was close. Not much to say in this one. Antonio Brown face footed Haden, the Browns punter, poor Browns.

Minnesota 34, St. Louis 6: had the Vikings winning. Game was a bloodbath. Not much to say.

San Francisco 28, Dallas 17: had the Niners winning. The game was expected. A poor showing by the Cowboys offense and the Niners destroying the Cowboys defense.

Carolina 20, Tampa Bay 14: had The Bucs winning. Derek Anderson showed some 2008 magic in this one while Cam Newton sat out. Bucaneers uniforms look awful. Shit.

Indianapolis 24, Denver 31: had the Broncos winning. The game was a good one. Colts almost pulled off a victory.

New York Giants 14, Detroit 35: had the Giants winning. The Lions actually won a game without shooting themselves in the foot which is what they did the last time the Giants came to town. Eli Manning looked bad. Hell the Giants look bad.

San Diego 17, Arizona 18: had the Cardinals winning. The Chargers choke again on Monday night. Chargers look good regardless and so do the Cardinals outside the fact they were down 17-6.

2014:
Week 1: 8-8
