NFL Week 16 Picks

Standard

The time is here again for some turkey, mistletoe, eggnog, unwrapping to find that your relatives hate you and gave you the family fruitcake (there is one in my family, not sure who has it). Time for singing carols, the time of year to give back to your fellow man and to reminisce the Christmas of years past. Did I forget anything?

Oh yeah its week 16 picks of the 2013 NFL Season. Last week was a better week for me gaining a 10-6 record in picks. Not bad since the last few weeks I’ve done worser. Still the Bills, Bengals let me down yet again. I may not even make last season’s record of 164-90-2. Even though i’m sure I’ll break the tie part. The week yet to come doesn’t have a Thursday Night game so there will be at least 14 games during the early and late slate on Sunday. So let’s dig into the picks:

Pittsburgh @ Green Bay: Packers. Rematch of Super Bowl XLV. The game pretty much means more to the Packers since their path to the postseason is less complicated than the Steelers. It is also an incentive for the Packers to take advantage of winning this game and they need help from the Giants and the Eagles to force the Lions and the Bears to lose.

Miami @ Buffalo: Dolphins. Dolphins proved otherwise to be a good team even though they have had so much drama in their locker room. Beating the Patriots was a shocker to me. Give me the Dolphins.

New Orleans @ Carolina: Panthers. The Aints aren’t good on the road. Carolina is at home. Good enough reason right?

Indianapolis @ Kansas City: Chiefs. The Colts are a dome team and I don’t feel good for them winning in chilly Arrowhead Stadium at 29 degrees Farenheit in front of raving Chiefs fans.

Cleveland @ New York Jets: Browns. Not much of a great game in this one but someone has to still pick. I choose the Browns. No given reason as to why. Other than the Jets piss me off whenever I pick them.

Tampa Bay @ St. Louis: Rams. Worst case scenario: The Buccaneers don’t get the #1 pick in this one. Think about that Buccaneer fans… Rams go to 7 wins for the season in a year mostly where they had no Sam Bradford.

Dallas @ Washington: Over/Under 25 point blown lead by the Cowboys? Just kidding. I’ll take the Cowboys. I’m not stupid to pick the Redskins.

New York Giants @ Detroit: Giants. The fact is this, we need Detroit to lose in order for the Packers to get to the playoffs at 9-6-1. I have faith in you Giants. Don’t let me down.

Arizona @ Seattle: Seahawks. Cardinals hope to bring a lot of earplugs, because it will be loud at Qwest Field. Fun fact: The last time the Seahawks (if they win this game) won 13 games, they went to Super Bowl XL against the Steelers in 2006. The 2013 Seattle Seahawks might just win 14 games at the end of the regular season. Franchise record 14 wins by the way.

Oakland @ San Diego: Chargers. Next!

New England @ Baltimore: Ravens. These games have turned out to be pretty good against these two including the last two AFC championship games. Don’t feel like going with the Patriots, thus causing me to use my Boston bias to revert its ugly ways on me. Feel good about the Ravens.

Chicago @ Philadelphia: Eagles. The Eagles need to get to the postseason. Simple as that. In order to do that they need to beat the Bears at home. I want to see another Cowboys collapse.

Minnesota @ Cincinnati: Bengals. I know I have been hard on you Cincinnati, but come on you shat against the Steelers on national television. Can you at least cause the Vikings to get to 10 losses this season? At least do that for me.

Denver @ Houston: Denver. Denver. Oh yeah Denver. Not giving the Texans any chance in this one.

Tennessee @ Jacksonville: Jaguars. Yes I am drinking beer right now. I don’t care.

Atlanta @ San Francisco: 49ers. The last Monday night game of the season is quite a sad one. This game will be the last home game for the 49ers at Candlestick Park, the team’s home since 1971. Featured in some of the NFL’s greatest moments. Definitely a beautiful stadium to me, it will be missed. Go Niners.
